# The Trust stage of the content funnel

The Trust post follows the Know post with small, hands-on, step-by-step actions. The core rule: customers never believe what you say. They only believe what they manage to do with their own hands.

After reading a Know post, people may have learned something new, but deep down they still have doubts. The Trust post works as a small test. The reader's feeling must shift from curious to eager: "That's so easy to follow, I want to try it!"

In the Trust post you have the advantage, because the result comes from what you have really done yourself.

## Two things a Trust post needs

- **A clear promise of results.** Follow these steps exactly and you get this specific result.
- **As little friction as possible.** Every step must be detailed enough that readers follow it and get the result right away, without getting stuck at any technical step.

## Why the Trust post must come from real work

Behind each Trust post is your own real, hands-on work. You must stay one step ahead of your customers: test it yourself, pay the price yourself, get a real result, and only then package it as a guide. That is why AI can't write the Trust post for you. AI doesn't step out into real life to do that work.

## Where the Trust post sits in the funnel

There are fewer Trust posts than Know posts, but they do the most to keep readers around. Besides leading readers on from the Know post, the Trust post is also a way to share value and get into communities. Readers from groups or search engines can come straight into a Trust post, make a result themselves, trust your know-how, then move on to the Love post.

## Boundaries

- A Trust post doesn't explain "what is it" and "why" in more than a few sentences. That part belongs in the Know post, because stuffing it into a Trust post waters the post down and gets in the way of action.
- A Trust post doesn't solve the big pain. It deals with one small obstacle along the way. The big solution is the job of the Love post.
